Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental delay and
social challenge. Clinicians work with patients and give a glimpse of studies
for autism, and go over the genetics, medication and how people with autism should
prepare for college. There might a way
to test children for ASD. So far, there have been "unprecedented
advances" in the study of ASD. Researchers have found hundreds of genes
associated with the ASD risk but appear to be related to neurodevelopmental
disorders and psychiatric problems. With that they hope to find a new study but
as of now they use children’s behaviors but end up having failure using their
motor skills.
Researchers are trying to find new
medication to target the symptoms going towards their hormones. The medication now specifically
helps things like if their easily distracted, hyper, aggressive even anxiety
but they are trying to find the medicine which would be less harmful with the
side effects. Children with Autism are
at the same risk of having obesity like others. They might have some
different risk that would make them more susceptible to weight gain and sleep
problems but other than that it can be the same.
Stomach pain could also be part of the symptoms of
ASD, and
treating that it could lessen the likeliness of those symptoms.
Kids with this disability can either be too
responsive or not responsive enough for their body to function correctly. Back then doctors thought
sensory symptoms were strange for people with autism. Researchers are
establishing that the symptoms may be a core showing of ASD, and could be related
to abnormal brain structure and while that’s being studied they are also trying
to find new ways of therapy to help relax the people with this disability.
Children with higher functions of ASD
are still going to college, but are at higher risk for developing psychiatric problems like
anxiety, depression and most likely will drop out of college. To people with
autism that do attend college, they should make a support system for them so it
will help guide them with their troubles that they are having but some colleges
don’t approve of the situation but some do take forth on it because they feel
like they should still get the education they deserve.
